Doing What's Right

“…sometimes to do what’s right, we’ve to be self-sacrificing, even it means giving up our dreams...”. These are the words from one of the characters in Spiderman 2.

This reminds me about several things. About following Christ, it reminds me to be self-sacrificing towards ourselves and embrace the values of Christ. About my family, it reminds me that going after the next higher paying job may not be the best thing for my family.

Last week, I visited my uncle to discuss about his offer for me to assist him in his business endeavor. I had a good chat with him. It was also good that I finally get to meet him for the discussion as I’ve been procrastinating it for some time. It further confirms that it’s not a good move for me to join him. In short, we share different values and therefore it’s hard for me to adopt his if I were to work for him. It may also affect time for my family not mention church ministry as well.

Monday Blues

Yesterday is one of the darkest Monday that I can remember. All 3 of us were down with flu. Then the worst is, my apartment got broken into during the day when all of us were out at work. Though the loss were minimal, I was quite shaken up because I didn't expect it to happen to me in an apartment building.

Thank God that SL did not go home during the day as she was pretty sick and I was persuading her to see the doctor and get an MC to go home and rest. We found our kitchen knife in our master bedroom and thought what could happen if she would have returned home and bumped into the intruder.

It was a close call to us and a wake up call to us not to take things for granted. Even though no one were at home, just the thought of if SL were to be home the worst could have happened really scarces me. We really thank God because of the minimal loss and most of all we're safe.
